Industry specialist Pantone Color Institute™ have chosen Marsala 8-1438 as their colour of the year 2015. The colour is based on the fortified wine of the same name, and as the name suggests it is a rich warm hue. We think it is perfect for adding depth and cosiness to an interior.

According to the Institute’s Executive Director Leatrice Eiseman “Nurturing and fulfilling, Marsala is a natural fit for the kitchen and dining room – making it ideal for tabletop, small appliances and linens throughout the home.”

Marsala is an earthy red-brown tone which will appeal to both men and women. Despite it’s earthy tones it is sophisticated at the same time and great for accessories and accents. We think it works well both in a matte textured finish for a more natural feel and in a gloss finish for a more luxury look. It is also a very versatile colour that works with most colour combinations including neutrals, greens and blues so perfect for updating an existing scheme as well being the foundation of a new one.

Here are just a few of our picks.
